Mayra (she/her) brings decades of expertise as a policy and nonprofit professional to her grants advisory role. She collaborates closely with our partners to navigate the complex landscape of grant funding. Her strategic guidance encompasses meticulous research, thoughtful proposal creation, and insightful communication with funders, resulting in successful grants that fuel educational innovation and impact.
Mayra previously served as Deputy CEO for Advancement for Eagle Academy Public Charter School, prior to which she held senior positions in the private sector at Patton Boggs LLP in Washington, DC,; and in the federal government at the Clinton White House. Mayra has also worked as a government and community relations consultant for a Member of Congress and a Governor. She also held senior positions in Chicago, Illinois at the Latino Institute, a Midwest Latino think tank, and at the Center for Community and Leadership Development.
Mayra was named one of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States by Hispanic Business magazine. She has two Masters degrees, the most recent in Educational Leadership. Mayra lives in Florida and enjoys walking her dogs, working out, reading, and listening to podcasts.
