Kia (she/her) is a grant writer who believes in diverse, equitable, and self reflective leadership. She is exceptional in exposing one's potential to themselves and others, while providing tangible ways for people to challenge themselves and serve their communities. She deems every person capable of changing the world around them given the tools and resources to hone their wealth of experience and knowledge into palpable skills. 

Kia has over a decade of experience in nonprofit and educational leadership, professional development, and grant writing. With this experience, Kia founded and led LIFE (Leaders Influencing Freedom and Excellence) Academy, centered on empowering and enlightening students so that they develop the efficacy to create their own desired results ranging from college access, to trades and entrepreneurship.

Prior to grant writing and consultation, Kia was a certified K-12 educator and leader that prioritized the psychological and social development of staff and students. She has raised millions of dollars, negotiated history making deals, spoken on numerous panels, advised dozens of schools, presented research, and addressed educators nationally. Kia is an alumna of Howard University, North Carolina Central University, and Canisius College.
